I screamed. Lynn pulled on the canine's tail and shouted at me,
"Run, Katie, run!" I ran, listening to the canine growling and Lynnie grunting.
I felt a short fear as Lynn disappeared into
the cornstalks. When it was throughout me, I felt like
I wanted to stay there endlessly. It felt damp and cool.
That is the way in which Lynn was. I found this out one afternoon when Lynn pulled me into the
kitchen, her eyes shining. She reached beneath the refrigerator and
pulled out a tray. When the truck lastly rumbled up, Uncle Katsuhisa jumped out and
immediately ran towards Lynn and me. Lynn mentioned Uncle Katsuhisa was an odd fish.
My father's brother, my uncle Katsuhisa, worked in a poultry hatchery in Georgia.
And, he said, he may get my mother a job working in a poultry processing manufacturing facility.
My mother said we had been misusing the phrase; you couldn't call a Kleenex kira-kira.
